Phoebe the Bee was where it all began — the very first story in the Tales from the Countryside series. Inspired by the vital role bees play in our ecosystem, Phoebe’s story was created to help children understand just how important even the smallest creatures are to life on Earth.

Since then, Phoebe has been joined by a growing cast of countryside characters, including Spike and Stanley. The collection now also features our fourth title, Bandit the Blue Tit, launched this year.
